A rainy day out on the ATV Trails

The Ouachitas immediately caught my eye, and I couldn’t wait to explore what they offered. They featured an impressive selection of brews, pizzas, and barista-made drinks. The aroma of peppermint filled the air as I ordered a seasonal peppermint-topped mocha to fuel my upcoming adventure. It was the perfect start to my day, enhancing the entire experience. Kudos to The Ouachitas!

One thing I didn’t realize until speaking with the locals is that Mena is not only home to one of the largest (if not the largest) mountain biking trails in the United States, but also a very popular destination for ATV enthusiasts. So much so that people end up moving to the area just to have access to these trails. Amazing!

If you don’t have an ATV of your own, there are plenty of ATV rental shops around the area.

My last stop of this wonderful day was at Little Italy, a highly recommended restaurant by the locals, so I felt the need to give it a try, and boy were they right. I didn’t expect to find great Italian food in Arkansas, but this was definitely a pleasant surprise.

Everyone I ran into was welcoming and open to conversation, which is a great thing to have in a community. They even gave me a free sandwich!

They were open on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. I was very grateful for this.
