What to Expect

This adventure includes breakfast at Sherwood Bistro and a trek to Wolf Pen Gap for an off-roading trip! Do not attempt this without an ATV or off-road vehicle. After exploring to your heart’s content, head back into town for pizza, wings, lunch at The Ouachita, and beer! You’re sure to have a great time exploring Mena, AR

Day 01 :

Sherwood Bistro

Our first stop was Sherwood Bistro, a locally owned cafe in the heart of downtown Mena. The cafe offers fresh coffee and specialty drinks along with baked goods. If you arrive at lunch, they also have sandwiches, gyros, and burgers! We tried out the turkey and Swiss sandwich and cheeseburger. Our food was fresh, hot, and tasty! I love a good toasted turkey sandwich.

Day 01 :

Wolf Pen Gap

Wolf Pen Gap, Arkansas

Wolf Pen Gap brought some pretty and unexpected challenges to our outing! If you are not in an off roading vehicle or ATV please don’t attempt Wolf Pen Gap. Luckily our vehicle allowed us to get to some of the views of the stream but it was a bumpy ride. If you’re the outdoorsy type there are tons of cabins to stay in out that way. Might be an outing best suited for older kiddos!

Day 01 :

The Ouachitas

821 Mena St, Mena, AR

The Ouachitas was established in 2018 and is a beautiful restaurant and bar. We came later in the day a bit before dinner so we opted for the Bosco sticks (cheese filled breadsticks), a cookie, and fresh lemonade. So good! They offer a large selection of beer and wine along with pizza, wings and salad to munch on. Don’t miss this Mena gem!
