Photographing the Cossatot river

I wanted to explore the area a bit, so I decided to get intentionally lost. Finding my way back proved challenging, but thankfully my phone had satellite coverage. The mountains are beautiful, and Arkansas does an excellent job protecting its natural forested areas. I took many stops to breathe in the cool mountain air. This peaceful time spent wandering without a destination turned out to be incredibly rewarding—a fantastic approach for anyone exploring new areas.

Beautiful place! While driving on 278, I realized I had reached the great Cossatot River. I immediately turned around to capture photos of the mountain fog and beautiful colors. Who said it had to be summertime to find great colors? I personally think they pop more with the red ground showing and the mossy bark. It was a great time, and it felt ethereal with the sound of the river mixing with my camera shutter clicking.

The Ouachitas immediately caught my eye, and I couldn’t wait to see what they had to offer. With an impressive selection of brews, pizza, and barista-made drinks. The aroma of peppermint filled the air as I ordered a seasonal peppermint-topped mocha to fuel my upcoming adventure. It was a perfect start to my day that enhanced the entire experience. Kudos to The Ouachitas!
